Bench grinder

A bench grinder is an electrical device that is attached to a work surface. The grinder should have protective shields. When using it is necessary to use face protection.

Bench grinders are classified according to the size of the discs. Disks from 150 to 250 mm (6-10 inches) are most often used in car workshops. Do not attempt to set the sanding disc larger or smaller than intended.

According to the purpose, three different types of the disk are used:
– Abrasive disc (a), used for various grinding jobs, sharpening tools, cutting or removing, trimming the edge after cutting. They are classified according to the size of the abrasive grain, from coarse to very fine;
– Wire disc (b), used for cleaning and polishing, removal of rust, scale and paint, removal of sharp edges after cutting and the like;
– Polishing disc (c), intended for grinding and polishing.
