The front bearing is on the front cover of the alternator. It is usually closed with the bearing retainer with the help of three screws. First, unscrew the screws and take off the bearing retainer. The bearing is removed with a suitable punch placed on the outside of the cover. By striking the punch or pressing the press, the bearing falls out of its housing. Installation is in reverse.

The rear bearing can be on the rear cover or the rotor shaft. When it is on the rotor, removing the bearing is done with a suitable tool and a puller. Mounting is done by pushing using a suitable tubular tool.

To replace the alternator bearing, follow these steps:

Front bearing replacement

Remove the three screws that hold the bearing retainer to the front housing. Remove the bearing retainer. Remove the front bearing from the housing.

Rear bearing replacement

The rear bearing can be on the rear cover or the rotor shaft. When it is on the rotor, removing the bearing is done with a suitable tool and a puller. Mounting is done by pushing using a suitable tubular tool.
